Here’s a shoutout to all our awesome tech-inclined girls out there: You might want to apply for one of these tech scholarships!
The International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) have partnered up for the #girlscandoIT initiative.
Women aged 18 to 45 years old are invited and encouraged to apply for scholarships in animation, game creation, and web development.
175 tech scholarships available
Four institutions in Metro Manila are offering a total of 175 tech scholarships.
The Human Resource Development Institute in Taguig has slots for 3D Animation & Game Development.
In Quezon City, the Bayan Academy for Social Entrepreneurship and Human Resource Development is offering scholarships for 2D and 3D Animation.
Meanwhile, in Las Piñas, Top Peg Animation & Creative Studio Inc is accepting applications for Animation and 2D Animation.
Lastly, Pasig residents can apply for a Web Development scholarship at the MFI Polytechnic Institute.
Requirements for tech scholarships
To be eligible for these scholarships, applicants must have at least completed their high school education. They must also be deeply interested in these tech-related fields. The deadline for applications is on July 2, 2018.
Please note, however, that online classes are not available for this program.
The #girlscandoIT scholarship program is part of the ILO-TESDA partnership’s Women in STEM Workforce Readiness project.
