This year, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) has worked diligently in promoting science and technology in the Philippines. DOST led the charge in organizing and executing science and technology events all over the country, including July’s National Science and Technology Week (NSTW).
Far from losing momentum, though, the science-centric agency continues to raise awareness and interest in the sciences. And this time, it’s shining the spotlight on scientific brilliance across the regions by allowing them to take center stage.
The Regional Science and Technology Fair and Exhibits 2018 is part of the nationwide Regional Science and Technology Week (RSTW) festivities. The event will take place from September 26 to 29 at the Universidad de Manila. Pisay researchers to present projects in Palawan
Meanwhile, students from the Philippine Science High School (PSHS) System nationwide will head to Palawan to showcase their STEM research projects.
The 2018 Science Research Summit will take place at Puerto Princesa’s Skylight Convention Center from September 28 to 30. The scholars will present their projects in front of Grade 10 to Grade 12 students from the Department of Education (DepEd) schools in Palawan. The activity aims to spur students’ scientific curiosity and get them interested in following STEM tracks themselves.
In addition, the Science Community Fair and Exhibits will take Grade 5 and Grade 6 students through a captivating tour of existing STEM research projects in the country. It will also feature interactive exhibits, as well as a poster-making competition. The Science Community Fair and Exhibits will be open to the public from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
